Collectively known as "IDS/IPS" or "IDPS", intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS) have converged. Over the past few years, both system have increasingly begun to pursue the same goals focusing on preventing against external threats leading to the convergence of the two approaches.

The workload for security operations should be reduced through the use of machine learning and analytics. Vectra believes that they are positiones as visionarys through the use of these resources.
